Karyn Twaronite is a Partner at Ernst & Young LLP and currently leads Human Resources for the Northeast, the firm’s largest region. Karyn oversees all aspects of HR for staff through partners, including: recruitment, staffing, learning, performance management, leadership development and advancement, and inclusiveness.
Karyn is a member of the Northeast management team and has served as the Co-Chair of the Metro New York Tri-State Professional Women’s Network since 2000. She also sits on many Ernst & Young advisory councils, including: Tri-State Ethnic Diversity; bEYond (The firm’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Ally network); EY/BEAT (EY Black Employees Achieving Together); Ernst & Young Cares Corporate Social Responsibility Committee; and the firm’s Americas People Council.
Karyn joined Ernst & Young as a client serving tax consultant. She received her B.S. in Accounting from Miami of Ohio and a Masters in Taxation from Fordham University. Karyn is a licensed CPA in the state of New York. She primarily served clients in the financial services and entertainment industries. In 1995, she was asked to rotate into a leadership role as the Director of Human Resources for the New York City Tax Practice, which expanded over time in scope to include all service lines and locations within the Northeast region.
External to Ernst & Young, Karyn also co-chairs the Corporate Advisory Council for The White House Project, a national, nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization (501c3), dedicated to advancing women’s leadership. Karyn is also a current fellow in the David Rockefeller Fellows Class of 2007-2008, which is sponsored by the Partnership for NYC.
She, her husband and seven year old son, live on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
